Sberbank continues hiring spree at Troika Dialog

As reported by the Moscow Times (12 January 2012), Sberbank has hired another executive for the brokerage Troika Dialog that the state-controlled bank acquired last year, this time former Renaissance Capital analyst Ovanes Oganisian. Meanwhile Maxim Safonov has been appointed head of fixed income, currencies and commodities.

Sberbank appointed Rob Leith as global head of investment banking at Troika in November 2011 and Yury Aidakimov in December.

VTB has also announced plans to hire international staff in 2012.

The expansion of the two banks is at variance with their rivals in in the investment banking sector, which have been cutting back.
